Light up lanterns for loved ones

Overgate Hospice are launching Lanterns on the Lake in memory of loved ones who have died in their care.

The campaign invites people to dedicate a lantern in memory of a loved one or in celebration of the care that Overgate Hospice provide.

The lanterns will then be floated on rafts across Shibden Park lake on Saturday, June 4 from 9.30pm at the Lanterns on the Lake event.

The lake will be lit up at sunset by the rafts full of lanterns which have been lovingly dedicated.

Overgate invite you to join them from 8pm at this event for time for reflection before the lantern rafts are released onto the water.

Community fundraiser Claire Bradley said: “We hope that this event will provide those who have lost someone special, a unique and special way of remembrance and a time to come together with family and friends.

“This brand new event will also commemorate the 35 years of care that Overgate Hospice has proved.”
