The Stainland Lions are limbering up for their 28th annual Boxing Day Fun Run - and they are hoping for a record entry.

It’s the perfect way to have a good time, run of the excesses of the festive period and help charities in the season of giving.

All are welcome to the event - from old to young, serious runners to not so serious runners, pram pushers, dog walkers and those in fancy dress.

Race Director Karen Thorne said; “Fancy dress is encouraged with special prizes for the best costumes and all the family can take part.

“It’s a fun event which you can run, walk or crawl depending on the previous days consumptions and all finishers get a medal.

“A massive charity raffle will take place after the race with all proceeds from the event going to two children’s hospice charities.”

The 1885 pub, Stainland, will be open for registration and hot drinks from 9.30am and the race will begin at 11am, followed by a raffle.

Entry fee is £4 for adults, £2 for under 14s, and £10 per family of four.
