Elland-based safety barrier manufacturer A-Safe have won an award for the lates product to roll off their production line.
A-Safe impressed judges at the iF Awards in Hamburg and won the Product Award in the Industry/Skilled Trades category for their iFlex Barrier System.
The model features a flexible design, with its seals making it suitable for hygiene-sensitive environments and its multi-directional construction ensuring it is a more economical fit in any facility.
The iF Design Awards identify outstanding achievements in design and are recognised the world over as a label of design excellence.
The international jury assessed more than 5,000 entries from 53 countries in order to determine who would receive their awards.
They were started in 1953 and have grown to become one of the most influential and coveted in the design world.
A-Safe industrial design engineer Tom Costello said: “This award recognises the great team effort we’ve made to create the advances to our leading range of barrier products.
“The innovations in hygiene, modularity and safety performance really lift our barrier to a new level of excellence – and we’re all very satisfied that this has been recognised by such a prestigious panel of judges.”
This is the second consecutive year that A-Safe have triumphed at the iF Awards, following a design accolade for their iFlex RackGuard in 2015.
The iFlex range retains the principles of A-Safe’s polymer-based barrier system which have been transformative for health and safety focused companies for over a decade – when the barriers are impacted by a workplace vehicle they flex, absorb the impact forces and reform to their original state.
A-Safe were founded in 1984 and its clients include Nestlé, Coca-Cola, BMW, 3M, Heathrow Airport, Unilever and Jaguar-Land Rover.
