Make the most of the sunshine - thunderstorms are on the way

The sun may have made an appearance today, but prepare for the downpours as rain is on its way.

According to the Met Office, today’s temperatures will reach 20 degrees with spells of sunshine continuing tomorrow (Friday), reaching 19 degrees.

But it is forecast to all change on Saturday when heavy rain will be making an unwelcome appearance and thunderstorms could be heading our way next week.

Saturday

Heavy rain throughout West Yorkshire from the early hours. A breezy day will follow with spells of sunshine. There is a very small chance of an isolated light shower arriving, most places remaining dry.

Sunday

Mainly cloudy throughout the day with spells of sunshine. Feeling cooler with temperatures reaching around 16 degrees.

Monday

The day will start with heavy rain throughout West Yorkshire with it turning lighter with sunny spells mid-morning. Thunderstorms are forecast for lunchtime with heavy rain continuing throughout the afternoon. Feel much cooler with highs of 15 degrees.
