A MAN from Halifax has died after falling from a shopping centre in Wakefield.
The 39-year-old has not yet been named but the Courier understands him to be from the Siddal area of Halifax.
Police have confirmed they were called to the Ridings Shopping Centre in Wakefield at 6.20pm on Bank Holiday Monday to reports that a man had fallen from the building.
He was taken to Pinderfields Hospital but later died.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
An inquest into his death is expected to be opened and adjourned later this week.
A police spokeswoman said: “We were called to the Ridings Centre after a man had fallen from the roof or from the building. He was a 39-year-old from the Halifax area. His death is not being treated as suspicious.”
