Man, 44, dies in car accident in Cleckheaton

The accident happened after the car, a blue Ford Focus, apparently went out of control on a bend and left the road, hitting a tree.

As a result the driver from Heckmondwike suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene.

The Major Collision Enquiry Team would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident which took place on Monday, August 26, at about 1.26am on the A643 Spen Lane, Cleckheaton.

The road was closed for a number of hours while investigation work took place.
