Man airlifted to hospital after 10ft fall into attic

Fire fighters had to cut a man out of his Todmorden home after he had fallen 10 feet into his attic.

The incident happened today (Saturday) at 3.30pm and the man in his 60s, who suffered pelvic and arm injuries, had to be airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary from his home on Rochdale Road.

Because of the severity of the man’s injuries, a fire crew from Halifax had to use a specialist areal appliance to create a space so he could be rescued out of a third-floor window.

The crew left the scene at around 4.25pm.
