Man arrested over hit and run in Leeds

Police investigating a hit and run that left a young brother and sister critically ill have arrested a man.

Raham Saleem, two, and Sabam Saleem, 10, were crossing Brudenell Road in Hyde Park, Leeds, on Saturday afternoon when they were hit by a silver Vauxhall Astra.

Last night police arrested a 36-year-old Leeds man on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident.

Police have also recovered a vehicle in connection with the investigation.
