A man has appeared in court charged with two counts of fraud.
Peter Wall, 30, is accused of posing as a former British Army captain to dishonestly raise money for himself. Wall, using the alias Peter Howard-Harding, appeared in the Courier in June this year, claiming to be raising money for the servicemen’s charity Help for Heroes.
He is also charged with trying to gain money by false representation from a family in Todmorden between April and July.
He appeared before Calderdale magistrates yesterday but did not enter a plea.
Wall, of Heaton Street, Blackburn, will next appear in court on February 22 before he is committed to the crown court.
