Man punched in face during attempted street robbery

A man was punched in the face as a robber tried to steal his mobile phone during an incident in Low Moor.

At about 5.40pm on Tuesday, June 16, a 24-year-old man was walking along Abb Scott Lane, when he was approached by a male who made demands for his mobile phone.

The victim refused and was punched in the face.

He then shouted for help and the suspect fled.

The suspect is described as white, in his late teens, of slim build and about 5ft 5ins tall.

He is thought to have broad shoulders and chubby cheeks, and was clean shaven with short blonde hair.

He was wearing a grey tracksuit.

Police are appealing for two men in a white van to come forward after they helped the victim.

Detective Inspector Alan Flynn, of Bradford District CID, said: “We believe that two men in a white van came to the aid of the victim and we are keen to speak to them, or anyone else who might have witnessed the incident.

“The victim did not suffer any serious injury and has been kept fully updated on the investigation to date.”
