A BIG-HEARTED bloke’s marathon rowing session has raised £460 for a charity for people with learning disabilities.

Warner Baxter completed 26 miles on a rowing machine in just three hours in aid of The Hive.

Bill Pearce, chairman of the charity, said: “It is just a magnificent effort. The money will be put into the charity’s general fund.”

The charity, based at the Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre, Halifax, runs courses and sessions ranging from arts and crafts to cookery to help adults with learning disabilities.

“Anything that will help get them towards independence,” said Mr Pearce.

“When people come to us they are interviewed to find out what they need and what we can offer them.”
