Man set for jail after string of burglaries

Philip Brindley, 39, of Bobbin Mill Close, Cornholme, appeared in custody before a judge at Bradford Crown Court on Wednesday and entered guilty pleas to a series of offences including six burglary charges and further allegations of theft and driving while disqualified.

All the offences cover a period between May 16 and June 23 this year and relate to break-ins at homes in Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Littleborough and Luddenden.

Brindley, who currently remanded in custody, also admitted stealing four motor vehicles.

Judge Jonathan Rose agreed to an adjournment of Brindley’s case so that further enquiries could be made into whether he would face any further burglary matters and he also ordered a pre-sentence report from the probation service.

But the judge told Brindley that he should not be under no illusion about the fact that he faced a lengthy custodial sentence when he returned to court on November 27.
