A HALIFAX man who was trampled by cows remains in a serious condition in hospital.
The 46-year-old was airlifted to The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, for emergency treatment.
He suffered head, chest, arm and abdomen injuries during the incident at Romaldkirk, near Barnard Castle, County Durham, on Thursday.
A hospital spokesperson today said his condition remained serious.
The man, who has not been named, was walking with his wife along a footpath. She escaped injury.
The National Farmers’ Union issued a warning following the incident and said grazing animals should be given a wide berth even if that means deviating from footpaths.
