There were plenty of polished performances as brass bands paraded through the streets for the sixth annual Hebden Bridge Heritage weekend.

Ten bands competed in the Alan Bottomley Memorial March contest this afternoon, during which they each played a march and a hymn tune in the centre of Hebden Bridge.

Hundreds of spectators filled St George’s Square to listen to the music.

Steve Gardner, of organisers Hebden Bridge Brass Band, said: “It has been an excellent day. Thank you to everybody who has supported the event and made it such a success.”

The overall winner was Marsden Band.
