Masked men threatened staff of a Bradford bank with a handgun before fleeing the scene with cash.

Officers were called to a bank on Fair Road, Wibsey at about 4.15pm yesterday (Friday) following a report that three masked men had entered and threatened staff with what is believed to be a handgun.

The men made off shortly afterwards in a dark grey new shape Ford Focus which was recovered on Acre Lane.

No-one was hurt in the incident in which a quantity of cash was stolen.

The suspects were described as three men, all of medium build and all around 5ft 9ins tall. All three men were masked and two wore dark tracksuits. One wore a navy blue Umbro jumper.

Detective Inspector Andy Howard of Bradford District CID said: “Enquiries are ongoing into this crime and officers have recovered a car which we believe the suspects used to flee the scene.

“Although no-one was hurt, clearly this would have been a frightening incident for those at the bank and it is important that we locate those responsible.

“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the robbery, or who saw three men fitting these descriptions entering or leaving the bank, to come forwards. Anyone who saw three men abandon a Ford Focus on Acre Lane should also contact the police.”
