The Mayor of Calderdale John Hardy will jump onto an electric bike and lead the Cycle for Work St George’s Day cavalcade through Calderdale.
It sets off from Walsden to the Eureka Museum on April 23 and it is hoped hundreds of cyclists will take part.
The cavalcade will be a highlight of a Cycle for Work challenge from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
That team, led by Steve Duncan, of the Community Foundation for Calderdale, consists of business people cycling the 900 mile route in 10 days to raise £100,000 to help fund 25 youth apprentices.
“As the Mayoral Charity for 2012/13 we have received lots of support from John Hardy over the last 12 months,” said Mr Duncan.
Cycle: Recycle, of Hebden Bridge, is providing the electric bike and other companies are also backing the challenge.
