Meet Craig Oates, the new mayor of Luddenden.
Craig, who lives in New Road in the village, was appointed civic leader at the annual mayor-making ceremony.
He has previously been on the committee and has taken over from outgoing Mayor Geoff Dardis.
He said: “I’ve been on the committee and was involved in previous years.
“I’m really looking forward to getting involved this year and raising plenty of money for worthwhile causes in and around the village.”
It is the 149th year since the mayoralty was established.
Each year the committee raises money for local groups and Craig has decided his charity of the year will be Overgate Hospice, which also benefitted last year.
The annual mayor-making saw villagers and guests brave the rain to celebrate and raise money for charity.
Elvis opened the proceedings, The Echoes sang Mr Blue Sky by ELO as the rain fell, but it did not deter younger visitors who braved the rain to dance.
An auction alone raised £890, with more coming from a duck race and other events.
The committee, which covers the areas of Warley and Midgley, has raised tens of thousands of pounds over the years.
