“I’m thrilled to be joining Forget Me Not at such an exciting time in its development. We’re preparing to open our second hospice over the Pennines in Bury, while, in West Yorkshire, we’re now caring for over 500 families, both in the hospice in Huddersfield and in families’ own homes.

"Despite perceptions, Forget Me Not is rarely somewhere a child comes to at the end of their life. Hospices today are full of life and offer a really wide range of services, helping families come to terms with the extraordinarily difficult circumstances they can find themselves in.

"I’m really looking forward to working with the great team here to help increase the public’s understanding of what a hugely valuable local service Forget Me Not is – not just for the children and families we care for but for the wider community and society as a whole.”

She also has a strong track record in fundraising, marketing, and building relationships with stakeholders and will be helping to shape the charity’s vision for the future of hospice care.

Rachael Heenan, Forget Me Not’s chair of trustees said: “We’re really fortunate to have someone of Luen’s calibre join us and I’m looking forward to working closely with her to ensure Forget Me Not continues to be recognised for the quality of care that we deliver to children and families.”
