VILLAGERS are seeking volunteers to join a community group to oversee the replacement of outdated play equipment.
The group needs to be formed to be able to access council funding for Greetland Recreation Ground.
Play equipment on the site is believed to have been there since the 1970s. Anyone who can help is invited to a meeting in the community centre on Wednesday, January 25, at 7 pm.
“If we are unable to gain the support of the community then our efforts will be in vain,” said spokeswoman Helen Barker.
Last year Calderdale Council announced it would spend more than £500,000 on upgrading children’s play areas, if they have community groups to look after them.
