Members of fire union vote in favour of action short of a strike

The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has announced that members have voted in favour of action short of strike in relation to the ongoing dispute with the Government over pensions.

Dave Walton, Assistant Chief Officer for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Naturally we are disappointed with the result of the ballot which the Fire Brigades Union has announced in support of their campaign on Firefighters pensions.

“Their proposal for action short of a strike‟ will run in parallel to the existing programme of strike action, and we are as yet unclear what form this action will take. We continue to urge both the Minister and the Fire Brigades Union to seek a resolution to this dispute.”
