Micro-brewery set for festive spell in Halifax

A successful Halifax-based brewery is branching out this festive season.

Stod Fold Brewery, based in Ogden, are opening a pop-up micro-brewery throughout December at Dean Clough Mill.

The Christmas Bar opens up on Friday, December 2.

Angus Wood, managing partner at Stod Fold, said: “We were thinking of branching into the retail business and we wanted to have somewhere in Halifax where we could try and get into that market.

“So we decided to give it a try for a month at Dean Clough and after talking to the guys there we fixed it up.

“We will be showcasing all our hand-pulled beers, a range of lagers, ciders and prosecco.

“There will also be a nice wine list on offer for people to come and try.

“There’ll also be food on offer, simple stuff like pies and locally-sourced produce.

“We wanted to keep it festive and to that end we have entertainment on offer in the form of a pianist, who will be performing on Fridays and Saturdays.

“There will also be a large beer glass as the centrepiece, something we used back when the Tour de France passed through.”

The bar is open Tuesdays to Sundays until December 31. Opening times are 12pm-12am, with late closure at weekends.
