The London Marathon is proving a labour of love for two midwives at the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
Selma Fitton, 52 and Dawn Dutton, 48, are fitting the training for the race on April 26, between duties on the labour ward at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
It’s the second marathon for them both having completed the Edinburgh Marathon last year.
They are running the long runs together once a week and shorter runs separately when they aren’t at work.
Selma, said: “We are progressing the long runs and are up to 14 miles at the moment and aiming to get to the required 22 miles. But it’s very tough now.”
Both are running to raise money for their chosen charities - Selma is supporting Diabetes UK and Dawn is backing Whizz Kidz.
