Mobile phones stolen in Huddersfield street robbery

Police are appealing for information after two men were robbed of their mobile phones as they walked on Alder Street in the Hillhouse area of Huddersfield.

The incident occurred between 8pm and 8.30pm on Friday 17 October 17 as the two men aged 20 and 21 were making their way home from the town centre when they were approached by the male suspect who was riding a mountain bike.

Detective Constable Richard Brooke, from the Kirklees Robbery Team, said: “The suspect threatened the two victims making demands for their mobile phones and threatening to assault the two men. Both victims handed over their phones and the suspect was seen to ride off in the direction of Bradford Road.

“Clearly, it’s not acceptable to threaten and intimidate anyone and I would appeal to anyone who may have any information or may have been offered these phones- an iphone 5 and Samsung Nexus 4- to contact police.”

The suspect is described as a white male, 6ft tall, medium build, 20-25 years of age and he spoke in a local accent.
