MP praises care in the community

Calder Valley MP Craig Whittaker visited Rastrick Hall & Grange care home as part of National Care Home Open Day.

He took a tour of facilities and met friends, families and members of the community.

Joanne Davy, Home Manager said; “We love this time of year at the home and we always look forward to the open day. We’ve been taking part in this for many years now and it’s always a lovely event, which is well supported.”

National Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities.

Mr Whittaker said: “Our care homes are an important part of our community and we should always make time to engage with the residents, some have fascinating stories to tell.

“I was delighted to have been invited to play my part at Rastrick Hall & Grange, there was a great atmosphere on the day, There is a strong connection with the community and I enjoyed my visit.”
