Detectives are hunting a mugger who attacked a pub worker as she left the premises to go to the bank.

The 43-year-old woman was walking across a verge opposite The Wheatsheaf on the corner of Brackenbed Lane in Mount Pellon, Halifax, when her handbag was stolen.

The Courier understands the woman works at the Wheatsheaf and had the pub takings in her bag when it was grabbed.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw the mugging at 9.50am on Tuesday or has information that could help.

A light blue or green car was seen driving up Brackenbed Lane at the time and officers think the driver may have seen what happened.

Anyone who can help the police should call Detective Constable Gavin Strachan in Calderdale CID on 01422 337089.
