Cragg Vale resident M. Edward King has returned from his winter home in America to set-up the meeting, which will take place at 6.30pm, and has invited all Calder Valley candidates and other local figures, to take part.

There are also set to be other public meetings on Monday at 6.30pm for the Ryburn valley, at Sowerby St Peter’s School community room, and on Wednesday at 6pm at Hebden Bridge Pennine Club, Albert Street. All the candidates have been invited to these meetings too.
Retired drama teacher and entrepreneur Mr King said: “It will be friendly, respectful and non-confrontational. I am inviting successful local business people to be part of the panel, and members of the public to come along and ask questions.

“I feel candidates should speak in person to the people they will be representing, and that the public should make their voices heard, and in particular, I would encourage young voters to attend.”

Refreshments will be served at the event. For more information, call 07583 111500.
