New football kits by Ripponden Parish Council for Ryburn United

Councillor Jayne Smith, the Chairman of Ripponden Parish Council, was given a preview of one of the five new kits presented by the Parish Council to the Ryburn United football club as part of the council support to local youth groups.

Coun Smith said, “This council grant is just part of our ongoing assistance to local organisations which do so much to improve community life across the Parish area.

“We are committed to ensuring a progressive organisation like Ryburn United, which holds the coveted Football Association Charter Standard, is given every opportunity to build on the success it has worked so hard to attain”.

Senior Section Chairman, Dave Ransley thanked the Parish Council for their generous gesture of providing full kits for the three open age senior teams which proudly carries the Parish Council name to fixtures across West Yorkshire.

The Junior Section Chairman, Ian Forbes, who accepted full kits for the newly formed under 11 and under 13 girl’s teams said: “We now have a junior section with two dozen teams playing under the Ryburn United banner.

“Our future plans involve working closely with the Ripponden community and the support from the Council is an important part of our strategy.”

This year the Parish Council Chairman’s Charity fund raising will be donated to youth groups in the Parish as part of its inclusion policies involving all generations of citizens in this beautiful area of the Pennines.
