Mark Burns-Williamson, Police and Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire, said:

“Projects like the Police Summer Camp are a perfect example of why all the money recovered under the Proceeds of Crime Act in West Yorkshire should remain in our county to enable such a positive programme of youth engagement.

“Currently Government retains half of these funds and I am campaigning to change this, so we can continue to help exciting and worthwhile initiatives such as this. So far this year I’ve managed to award more than £400,000 to nearly 90 groups and organisations throughout West Yorkshire.

“The joint team who make this Summer Camp happen are a real inspiration to our young people in Bradford. I was able to meet many of them in person following the success of last year, and I put my full support behind this year’s event which I’m sure will be another great experience for all those involved.”
