Nicola’s homing quest goes on

Kind-hearted Nicola Hemingway is not only raising cash for a Cyprus animal sanctuary - she’s also adopted her third pet from the rescue centre.

Wilma the chihuahua flew into Britain on April 4 - Nicola’s 38th birthday - joining cats Dusty and Acorn who had arrived at her Stump Cross, Halifax, home last year.

Mum-of-one Nicola fell in love with Wilma after seeing her on the Cyprus Pride House website. Wilma, who was pregnant when she arrived at the centre, gave birth to five pups which will all be re-homed in the UK next month.

Nicola said: “Wilma won’t leave my side. Mango the cat came over on the same flight and needs a forever home.” Anyone who can offer Nicola car boot sale items can email
