Night club attack left man with 18 stitches

A 22-year-old who carried out an unprovoked attack in a Halifax night club has been sentenced.

Daniel Foulds, of Elphaborough Close, Hebden Bridge, admitted unlawful wounding after leaving his victim, Tyler Jackson, with 18 stitches in his lip after landing a punch in Liquid, Halifax on September 30.

Mr Jackson, then 19, was enjoying a night out with friends and was making his way off the dance floor when he stopped to chat to someone.

Bradford Crown Court then heard how the next thing Tyler knew he was in the treatment room in the night club before going to Calderdale Royal Hospital. Mr Jackson described the punch as having “a great deal of force.”

Foulds was arrested after he admitted to a friend that he caused the injury.

He was given a 12 month community, ordered to do 200 hours unpaid work and pay £500 in compensation.
