A sponsored walk around Ogden Water has raised £493 for the bravery award scheme at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
The walk was organised by nine-year-old Corey Breton, who attends St Andrew’s Junior School in Brighouse, and saw him and nine of his friends, aged between 18 months and 14-years-old, walk one-and-a-quarter miles around Ogden Water.
The group completed the walk in 55 minutes.
Corey’s mum Claire Keogh said: “My son wanted to do this for the hospital as he goes there on regular visits.
“Corey has hyper mobility and growth hormone deficiency, both of this combined means he is more flexible than most, prone to falling over, gets tired easily and of small statue.
“I am very proud of Corey and think it is fantastic that he thought about others and wanting to help them but by doing the walk.
“He choose to do something that was out of his comfort zone and enlisted the help of his friends to keep him company and to be able to raise more money.”
