Norland transformed into musical wonderland for Scarecrow Festival

The 15th annual Norland Scarecrow Festival is well underway this weekend.

Despite an afternoon of rainy showers, the musical-inspired scarecrows on display throughout Norland brought a smile to everybody’s face.

From Rocky Horror and Grease themed displays to all-singing, all-dancing Beauty and the Beast, Sweeney Todd and Willy Wonka scarecrows- the festival is not to be missed.

Mandy Lyons, a member of the Scarecrow Festival committee said that despite the weather, the day was still going well.

“We’re still getting a lot of people turning up and everyone’s enjoying it and having a great day.

“There’s some fantastic scarecrows.”

Over the weekend, there will be attractions for all the family to enjoy, including the Hebden Bridge Junior Band, the Friendly Band, face painting, a Barrel Organ, as well as children’s fun rides on Shaw Lane Field.

Rough Hey farm will offer homemade cream teas and free parking over the weekend and St Luke’s Church will open throughout the event offering light refreshments.
