Festivals are coming thick and fast in Brighouse.

In recent week’s there’s been the Canal, Beer and Music Festival, the Arts Festival is imminent and now, as the Monty Python team once said, for something completely different!

Brighouse Comedy Festival continues the amazing effort of the Brighouse Business Initiative and townsfolk to give Brighouse real forward impetus - and it is clearly working.

Its first ever comedy festival is being run in conjunction with Foot and Barrel Theatre Productions.

It’s got great stand-ups, intimate comedy clubs, childrens plays and workshops. The one thing is they are all guaranteed to raise a smile.

Venues include Miller’s Bar, Lane Head Hotel, Rastrick Bowling Club, Brighouse Sports Club, Waterfront Hotel and the Holiday Inn.

Among the stars taking part are Alun Cochrane, Brennan Reece, Fern Brady, Steve Bugeja and Sean Walsh.

The Festival kicks off in Miller’s Bar on September 28 with an open mic session which is free.

Said Festival director Sean Gough: “These are really exciting times in Brighouse. This new Comedy Festival adds to Brighouse’s growing reputation as the place to be for great entertainment.”
