A NURSERY which opened last year in an old brewery scored top marks across the board in its first Ofsted inspection.
A glowing report rated Fountain Springs Day Nursery at The Maltings, in Ovenden Wood, Halifax, as outstanding all-round.
Inspectors wrote: “Children are at the heart of this vibrant and stimulating setting in which their individual needs are genuinely valued and nurtured, therefore promoting inclusive.”
They praised the “strong leadership of the nursery’s “inspirational” management team and noted how children were succeeding extremely well in their learning and development.
The nursery opened in September in the former Fountain Head Brewery.
Manager Amanda Fox said: “We designed the nursery to be outstanding from the start.
“We are delighted to be one of only a few nurseries to be judged outstanding in our first opening inspection and the result is a testament to all the hard work and commitment of the staff, parents and children.”
The nursery is owned and managed by Hipperholme and Lightcliffe High School, which acquired the building in 2010 to create a vocational learning centre.
Head teacher Anthony Smith said: “The nursery operates within the building and as an integral part of Hipperholme and Lightcliffe High School and provides our students with work experience in a outstanding industry based setting.
“We are delighted with the inspection findings and endorsement on our plans for the nursery and The Maltings overall.”
