A nursery is celebrating after being praised as outstanding by Ofsted inspectors.
The education watchdog recently carried out an unannounced Ofsted inspection at Wellholme Park Children’s Centre, a Sure Start Children’s Centre.
Inspectors said there is a superior awareness of safeguarding issues and staff have high expectations for all children.
They also said that staff model excellent social skills, there is an exceptional commitment to improving children’s behaviour and friendships and children show high levels of motivation.
The nursery said: “We are really pleased with this feedback and tremendously proud of our staff team and the children that attend. We will be celebrating with a party.”
It has been a busy couple of months for the Sure Start North Halifax partnership.
The Elland Children’s Centre, Boxhall Road, turned 10 years old and a celebration event was aso held to recognise the achievements of parents and volunteers.
The celebration event, held last month at Coffee Culture Cafe, Shibden Park, included activities throughout the day to keep little ones entertained.
Sue Lodge, from the partnership, said: “It was the first celebration event we had organised and was a great success. We are hoping it will become an annual event.
“It was great to see so many families having fun. There were lots of craft activities to keep the children entertained and certificates were presented followed by afternoon tea.”
A party was also held to mark the Elland Children’s Centre milestone birthday.
