Off-duty paramedics help free man trapped in car in Halifax

Off-duty paramedics leapt to action to help free a man who was trapped in a car.

Emergency services were called at 12.09pm today (Monday) after two vehicles collided in Gibbet Street, at the junction with Adelaide Street, in Halifax.

A man, between 20 and 30-years-old, was left trapped in a car following the collision but was freed by two off-duty paramedics.

Firefighters was called in case the he had to be cut out of the vehicle but were not needed.

A fire service spokesperson said the man was taken to hospital with chest injuries.
