A lady who was born in Halifax a century ago received a special birthday card from HM The Queen.
Olive Barron, a patient at Huddersfield Royal Hospital on her big day, was cheered up by the Regal card which was especially delivered to the ward she was on.
Olive, of Pellon, Halifax, was surrounded by her daughter, Margaret Gledhill, her nieces, nephews, great grand-daughter and special family guests from Australia, pictured, on her 100th birthday.
Niece Denise Mitchell said the Palace had called to confirm her aunty’s address and on discovering she was in hospital they arranged for the card to be sent there.
Ward 19 clerk Wendy Smith, said: “We were delighted to be able to make sure Olive enjoyed her birthday party on such a special occasion for the whole family.”
Mrs Barron, had two children with her late husband Albert and worked at Whittakers Brewery in Halifax, and Werritt’s fish shop in Pellon Lane, Halifax, for many years.
