It is likely the level of positive cases in each area will be key to which Tier it is placed in, with the Government set to announce these this Thursday, November 26.

Public Health Director Debs Harkins tweeted late yesterday: “The rate is still too high. We need a concerted effort to keep doing the three big things for the rest of lockdown and beyond to protect loved ones, communities and the NHS.”

The three things are avoiding mixing with anyone outside your household or bubble, wearing a face covering in all indoor settings where you might come into contact with someone from outside your household or bubble and isolating at home if you or someone else you live with has COVID-19 symptoms or you have been advised to do this by the NHS.

The number of positive cases in Calderdale has decreased over the last week, almost three weeks after the latest national lockdown began on November 5.

NHS Digital data for the period November 15 to 21 shows Calderdale had a COVID-19 case rate of 328.7 cases per 100,000 of people with 695 positive cases.

This is down about a third on the previous week when the case rate was 486.2 per 100,000 with 1,028 cases.
