These items can now be taken at Calderdale waste centre sites

Household waste and recycling centres in Calderdale have given an update of what they are accepting at their sites.

Currently HWRCs at Todmorden, Brighouse and Halifax are open.

Sites are accepting bagged general household waste, garden waste, cardboard, wood and metal, and bulky items of household waste such as old furniture.

No electrical or other type of waste are being accepted

The centres are back to their normal summer opening times, but gates will close 10 minutes before the actual closing time, to allow time for traffic to exit the site.

Calderdale Council has confirmed that there long queues at the sites particularly at Halifax.

The sites are only open to Calderdale residents only and people must bring bring proof of residence.

Only one person is allowed per vehicle and staff at HWRC cannot assist with unloading.

Opening times:

Mon-Fri (8am - 5pm) Sat (8am - 4pm) Sun (9am 4pm) - closing 10minutes earlier to allow for exit traffic.
