Warning to Shibden Hall visitors as police warn about irresponsible parking

Police are warning visitors to the home of Gentleman Jack about where they can park or they could be hit with a £100 fine.

A number of complaints have been made by residents about bad parking on Shibden Hall Road.

With a predicted good weather Calderdale police officers are reminding motorists about where they are legally allowed to park.

A spokesperson for the Halifax Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Given the recent good weather and continued interest in the site both the police and partnership are receiving continued complaints about bad parking on Shibden Hall Road, Halifax.

"The offence of parking on double white lines falls under Section 36 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 (Failing to comply with traffic sign).

"There is a £100 fixed penalty and three penalty points.

"Highway Code (rule 240) states that you must not park on a road marked with double white lines, even when a broken white line is on your side of the road, except to pick up or set down passengers, or to load or unload goods."
