STAFF and students at Calderdale College will have their fingers crossed for success as they are nominated in a national awards ceremony.
The Times Educational Supplement have announced their shortlist for the first annual TES FE awards.
Out of hundreds of nominations from all over the country for education providers large and small, Calderdale College is one of the six that stood out for their creativity, originality and passion.
They have been nominated for developing an enterprise culture throughout the College including tutorials, enrichment activities and into staff development.
It also recognises their links with industry including their Enterprise Challenge and Dragon’s Den Challenge across departments.
Students have also participated in external competitions such as the Enterprise Fusion Event against Oldham College.
Business Lecturer Furkan Uddin said: “Being short listed in such a prestigious national category is a fantastic achievement for the college which is truly well deserved.
“The college has responded to the economic and financial climate by identifying the needs of our learners to become more competitive and entrepreneurial.
“This is not only an award that recognises the college’s achievements but an award that recognises our committed and inspired learners.”
They will go up against other colleges from across the country on November 11 at a ceremony in London.
