Overgate Hospice appealing for unwanted bottles of drink

Overgate Hospice is asking people in Calderdale to “drink it or donate it” in their latest appeal to help raise funds for the hospice.

Louise Danielczuk, appeals manager at the hospice, said: “If you have a bottle of wine, or a bottle of whisky that’s been sat at the back of the cupboard for years donate it to the hospice where we can use it as a raffle prize, in a hamper or auction it at one of our events - they will all make money for the hospice.”

The hospice, which provides care for adults from Calderdale with life-threatening illnesses, has to raise over £2.8m each year to keep its services going.

“We have got a lot of events that are happening over the next few months and we are in need of prizes to raffle,” said Louise.

The hospice is also appealing for any unwanted Christmas presents to be donated to be sold in its shops. Donations can be taken to the hospice on Hullen Edge Road in Elland.
