Pensioner hit by lorry in Halifax

A woman in her 80s was hit by a lorry on a busy road around Halifax town centre at lunchtime today (Friday).

The pensioner was hit by the vehicle on Cow Green at 12.07pm and caused some disruption to traffic around Bull Green roundabout.

The emergency services were called and the woman was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where she will be kept under observation.

Her injuries are not thought to life threatening.

Police managed the traffic as she was being treated with the road being fully reopened at 2.16pm.
