A 67-year-old pensioner driving a mobility scooter was knocked down when her scooter collided with a 4x4 vehicle, this evening.

The pensioner was crossing the road of Broad Street in Halifax town centre when she collided with the four wheel drive vehicle at around 6pm on December 30.

Police said the woman suffered minor injuries to the head and has been taken to Huddersfield Royal Hospital for checks. Her injuries are not serious, however.

The incident caused traffic delays but roads have since returned to normal.
