King’s Court on Akeds Road is home to up to 18 vulnerable adults along with a further nine next door.

Matthew Rourke, MIS lead, said: “Improving the garden areas has gone a long way to improving the mental health of these residents during such a difficult time. The garden project, led by coordinator volunteers Darren Clarke and Saqib Ahmed, has utilised service user volunteers to make significant progress on improving the gardens where they live.

“We’d like to give a big thank you to all Alpha House residents who have mucked in, especially Saqib and Darren for taking the lead on this project with Alpha House. Projects such as this are key to helping our residents through this difficult time and maintaining their therapeutic progress. This is only the beginning of the project, we can’t wait to see how things progress, but it’s sure off to a great start!”

Thanks to all the organisations and individuals who supplied photos for this supplement.

The Halifax Courier approached several groups and organisations ... we couldn’t possibly get to everybody, and some were unable at this time to participate, but don’t worry if you or your staff aren’t featured. We’re more than happy to devote more pages in the near future for more Big Thank You pictures. If you’d like to send in photos please email [email protected], including the names of those pictured and what they do, or have done, in the coronavirus effort.
