Mr Davies, who has had three sold-out exhibitions at the gallery, said: “I love the Brighouse community and my paintings celebrate the great bunch of people who live and work in the area. It’s great to be one of the first artists to have a new show after all the troubles of the year.

“This show includes some lovely paintings of my favourite places. I hope people will be able to tell how much fun I had creating them.”

All his quirky paintings feature local people and places in a cheerful upbeat style.

The Brighouse-based artist was in an episode of the BBC One TV programme Home Is Where The Art Is last year and has seen his popularity rocket.

Some of the paintings celebrate football teams Huddersfield Town, Bradford City and Leeds United. In others, there are landmarks such as Castle Hill with people flying kites.

On Saturday he will be at the gallery from 11am to 2pm.
