Beech Hill tower blocks demolition in pictures and what is the next stage of the project
The imposing tower blocks in Beech Hill which stood empty for more than ten years have been demolished in a scheme that will create hundreds of new homes.
We take a look back over the months at how the three tower blocks that were a feature of the Halifax skyline were turned into dust in these pictures.
Rhodar also utilised special water jets attached directly to the demolition equipment in addition to state-of-the-art mist cannons to mitigate dust migration generated from the demolition works.
A total of 114 new homes will be built on the cleared site of which 57 affordable homes will be created to meet local housing needs.
The total delivery cost of the project is 21.813 million,
It is hoped that once the site is cleared, housing building work can start on site in January 2020 with a completion date of May 2022.
