Calderdale invited to brew up for Overgate this June
Overgate Hospice is inviting people across Calderdale to put the kettle on and take part in The Big Brew.
Following the success of last year’s event, The Big Brew once again encourages local people, schools, workplaces, cafés and community groups to come together over a brew and a sweet treat while raising vital funds for Overgate Hospice, on Friday, June 12 or a preferred date of choice.
Supporters can host their own Big Brew in whatever way suits them best – from coffee mornings and cake sales to workplace tea breaks, afternoon teas, picnic brews, garden gatherings, bake offs or even catching up over a cuppa with friends.
Whether it’s big or small, every brew will help Overgate continue providing outstanding care and support to local patients and families.
To help make every event a success, Overgate Hospice provides everyone who signs up with a free fundraising pack, filled with helpful resources, decorations and fundraising materials to make hosting easy and enjoyable.
Last year, the Calderdale community came together in fantastic numbers to support The Big Brew, with events taking place in homes, schools, churches, cafés and businesses across the area.
Chelsea Holt-Conway, community fundraiser at Overgate Hospice, said: “The Big Brew is such a simple but meaningful way for people to support Overgate Hospice while spending time together.
"Last year we saw incredible support from across Calderdale, with people hosting everything from prosecco parties to community coffee mornings and garden get-togethers.”
Zoe Sparks, community fundraiser at Overgate added: “We’d love even more people to get involved this year. Whether you host a small gathering with friends or organise something bigger in your workplace or community, every cup of tea and slice of cake helps Overgate continue caring for local people and their loved ones when they need us most.”
The Big Brew is open to everyone, with Overgate encouraging the whole community to get involved and help raise funds to support hospice care across Calderdale.
Signing up is free and easy, and participants will receive their free fundraising pack along with ideas and support from the Overgate team.
