From ghostly pubs to spooky sightings, here are locations across the borough and their stories that could have come straight from a Halloween film.
13. Theatre Royal
The Theatre Royal was built in 1905 and could hold an audience of up to 2,000. It replaced the old theatre and the ladies toilets are said to be haunted and machines have mysteriously switched themselves on and off.
14. Ring O' Bells
The old pub sits in the shadow of the Halifax Minster and dates back to the 1700s. It is believed that taps turn themselves on in the middle of the night and switches turn themselves off.
15. Kershaw House
Henry Murgatroyd completed the house in 1650 and added the gateway arch in 1660, but there had been a home on the site long before then - possibly as far back as 1307. It is said to be haunted by Quakers and Roman soldiers.
