He was nominated by the social worker of a child who he has been working with.

The social worker who nominated him gave him a glowing report, mentioning Mr Cartner didn’t only offer the student with social and emotional support but also took him to and from visits to his new foster carers to make sure he had settled, before and after contact.

She went on to say that his help was invaluable and in 16 years of working as a social worker said she had never experienced the level of commitment and emotional support from a member of staff who she had come into contact.

‘Dave has made a significant difference in the young person’s life as a result of his work and we cannot thank him enough’ was some of the praise given by the social worker.
